FAQS

What does Baraat mean?

The baraat is a joyful wedding procession where the groom arrives at the wedding ceremony accompanied by his family and friends. Marked by music and dance, it symbolizes the groom's formal arrival to meet the bride's family, who greet him upon arrival.

Everyone is invited to join the baraat.

What is a Sangeet?

Meaning ‘sung together,’ the Sangeet is a pre-wedding welcome party celebrating the union of two families through music and dance.

Is there a registry or wishing well?

Your presence is the greatest gift of all! We’re so grateful to be celebrating this day with loved ones.

If you are inclined to give, a contribution to our newlywed fund would mean the world to us. We will have a wishing well on the day. Thank you for your love, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Will transport be provided?

There are readily available ubers and taxis to Amisfield Restaurant from Queenstown.

We will be arranging a shuttle service to Chard Farm winery for the Sangeet. Should you wish to use this service, please fill out the details in the RSVP form.

Can I drive to either event?

There is parking available at Chard Farm but there will be no parking available at Amisfield.

Are children invited?

We love your little ones! Children are welcome to attend the Sangeet and our Wedding Ceremony.

However, we’ve decided to make the reception an adults-only celebration.

If you need childcare assistance during the reception please reach out to us in advance and we will gladly assist with arrangements.
